“United International University” is the place where we quest for excellence. UIUPC (UIU Photography Club), one of the students’ clubs of UIU is working to introduce and motivate photography as a co-curricular activity to the students of this university. This club has been established at 2005 and within its way, through currently this club is enriched with 800 dedicated members among which some are well renowned both nationally and internationally. As a yearly event, this club is organizing an exhibition UIU Photo Carnival’17 at Drik Gallery.
We firmly believe that this exhibition would be a chance for young talents of photography to showcase their talents and skills. We aim towards providing a platform for photographers to express their talent & skills in different categories of photography.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: All the Students, Alumni and Faculty of UIU.

THEME

Pictures from all genres are eligible. We expect a diverse range of works to portray the outstanding creativity, imagination and visual expertise by UIUANs.

CATAGORY

Submission is open for two categories-
1. Single Photographs
2. Mobile Photographs

Section 1: SINGLE

– Each participant can submit up to 20 photos.
– Each photo should be renamed as
<Participant’s Name>_<Department>_<Student Id>_<Mobile No>_<Photo Serial No>
For example: Ahnaf Adib_BBA_111151007_015XXXXXXXX_01
– Put all your Single Photos in a “ZIP Folder” and send it to the email given below
– Submit your photos through a single email to photocarnival.camera@gmail.com
– Subject of the email should be
Single_<Participant’s Name>_<Mobile no>.
– Follow General Guidelines (below).

Section 2: MOBILE

– Each participant can submit up to 10 photos.
– Each photo should be renamed as
<Participant’s Name>_<Department>_<Student Id>_<Mobile No>_<Photo Serial No>
For example: Ahnaf Adib_BBA_111151007_015XXXXXXXX_01
– Put all your Mobile Photos in a “ZIP Folder” and send it to the email given below
– Submit your photos through a single email to photocarnival.phone@gmail.com
– Subject of the email should be
Single_<Participant’s Name>_<Mobile no>.
– Follow General Guidelines (below).

GENERAL GUIDELINES

– Entries can be Color or Black and White photographs.
– Photographs must be submitted in digital format. No print or film submissions will be accepted as an entry.
– All digital files must be in JPG or JPEG format.
– Single Photos must contain at least 3000 pixels wide on the longer side, minimum resolution should be 300 dpi.
– Mobile Photos must contain at least 1400 pixels wide on the longer side, minimum resolution should be 240 dpi.
– No border and watermarks are allowed.
– Only online entries will be eligible.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

– The photographer must be the sole owner of his/her work.
– Only minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is cropping. Any changes to the original Photograph not itemized here are unacceptable and will render the Photograph ineligible for the exhibition.
– Photographs that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright infringement or fraud. When photographing the work of others, it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame close up of another person’s art.
– The photograph must not contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.
– UIU Photography Club may use the submitted photographs for promotional activities but it does not claim any authority to use the photographs commercially ever.

SELECTION LIST

Selected participant’s list will be published on our Facebook event. Participants will also be notified personally through email/mobile.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

Selected photographers will have to submit a registration fee for per selected photo series. Participants will be contacted via email/mobile phone after the publication of the result & will be informed about how to submit the registration fees.

– For each selected Single photo 800/- tk only.
– For each selected Mobile photo 500/- tk only.

EXHIBITION SCHEDULE AND VENUE

Detailed timeline and locations would be notified later on.

RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND EXHIBITION

If, for any unforeseen reason the exhibition is not capable of running as planned or any other causes beyond the control of UIU Photography Club that hampers smooth operation of the exhibition, UIU Photography Club reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the exhibition.
